Terraces and outdoor spaces
In Phuket half of life happens outdoors. We build terraces, salas, barbecue areas and outdoor kitchens that shrug off ultraviolet, downpours and salt air.
Outdoor spaces in the tropics age many times faster than interiors: the sun burns colour out, downpours find every mistake in the falls, and insects find every unprotected board. An outdoor area can't be built "like a room, only outside" — it has its own engineering and its own materials.
We design outdoor zones as an extension of the house: the same logic of materials and light, but with structure specified for the climate. Teak and composite decking, stainless fixings, drainage under every surface, IP65 lighting and covered sockets.
We build terraces and patios, Thai salas and pergolas, outdoor kitchens and barbecue areas, paths and retaining walls, garden lighting and base landscaping. Pool surrounds are a speciality of their own: anti-slip surfaces and correct falls are non-negotiable.
Methods of execution
The main enemy of outdoor structures is water. Almost all of our specification is about where it will go and what it must never touch.

Bases and drainage
Under every surface: falls away from the house and a drainage layer. Ground-level terraces sit on waterproofed concrete bases; decks sit on adjustable pedestals with ventilation gaps.

Timber that lasts
Teak and thermo-treated timber with sealed end grain, concealed stainless fixings, expansion gaps. One oiling a year and the deck serves for decades.

Shade as a structure
Salas and pergolas are calculated for wind load — monsoon season tests every roof. Roofing is tile or composite with rainwater collected into the drainage, not onto the path.

Outdoor kitchens done properly
Frames in block and stainless steel, granite worktops, outdoor-rated appliances. Water, drainage and power built to indoor standards, with the same warranties.

Light and the evening scene
Garden lighting is designed in scenes: a soft wash over greenery, path markers, façade accents. Controlled from a phone or on a sunset schedule.

Our approach
We start every outdoor project by watching the plot: where water goes in a downpour, where the sun is at four in the afternoon, where the monsoon blows from. A good terrace is designed for its specific plot, not copied from a catalogue.
Materials are chosen by an honest criterion — "what will this look like in three years": we recommend only solutions that have already survived more than one rainy season on our sites. The client understands how every material ages before paying for it.
Landscaping is handed over with an irrigation system and a care schedule. On request we pass the garden to our partner maintenance service — the greenery stays looking the way it did at handover.
